Friedsam vs Bara: who will record a victory?

Anna-Lena Friedsam was representing the German national team on the Olympic Games at Tokyo. In the Japanese capital she managed to record a victory over Watson in the first round (7:6, 6:3). In the second round Friedsam was crushed by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (1:6, 1:6). 

Overall, it is not a successful season for the German player. Since the start of the year Friedsam went past the first round only on two WTA tournaments. It happened in April and in July, at Stuttgart and at Parma respectively. It is worth noting that she had to start from qualification on both of those tournaments. 

Representative of Romanian tennis Irina Bara is trying to find her way into the Top-100. She is currently at the 116th position on WTA rankings. Home tournament at Cluj-Napoca is a perfect opportunity for Bara to improve her position.

In 2021 Romanian player put up a decent performance at Bol tournament in Croatia. Bara reached the semi-final of that competition.
