Kerber vs Fernandaz: a bet on experience
In the round of 16 at US Open Angelique Kerber will play against Leylah Fernandez on September 5. Is young Canadian player ready for the match? The answer is in our prediction.

Command Analysis

Angelique Kerber

Angelique Kerber reached the round of 16 for second consecutive season. German player has a great chance to advance further in the main draw, because her next opponent will be not Osaka, but Leylah Fernandez, who lacks experience.
We should note that Kerber beat three dangerous opponents in first three rounds. In the first round German player was close to an elimination, but managed to beat Yastremska on a tiebreak in the decisive set (3:6, 6:4, 7:6). In the second round Kerber managed to get revenge on Kalinina (6:3, 6:2) for a defeat at Roland Garros. In the third round Kerber had a difficult match against Stephens (5:7, 6:2, 6:3).
Worth noting that Kerber lost a first set in two matches, but found a courage to turn the match around. Of course her experience and mental toughness helped her a lot.

Leylah Fernandez

18-year old Leylah Fernandez clinched a spot in Top-100 and sometimes puts up great results. But Canadian player still lacks consistency. For example, she won a tournament at Monterrey in March, but then she failed to win more than three matches in a single tournament, before the start of US Open.
In first two matches at New York Fernandez beat fellow inconsistent players, Ana Konjuh (7:6, 6:2) and Kaia Kanepi (7:5, 7:5). In the third round she played against the current champion of the tournament, Naomi Osaka. Japanese player had a great chance to record a victory in straight sets, but failed to do that and then she simply couldn't get back on track (5:7, 7:6, 6:4).

Tip and bets
Kerber gained a wonderful form since the grass part of the season and doesn't want to stop. German player is in a great physical shape, she is able to win in long matches, plus she has a great experience. Fernandez won the match against Osaka by a miracle, but wasted much energy. We don't think that Fernandez will put up another surprise at New York.
Our prediction - Kerber to win with a handicap of (-4) games
We are expecting a great performance from Kerber in that match. Fernandez makes too many mistakes, so she is unlikely to win a set.
Our second bet is on total under 21 games
