Kudermetova vs Halep: prediction for the WTA Melbourne match

One year ago Veronika Kudermetova got off to a successful start and reached the final of Abu Dhabi tournament. But Aryna Sabalenka didn't let the Russian player to claim the title (2:6, 2:6). Start of 2022 was also successful for Kudermetova, she advanced into the final of Melbourne tournament. Russian player surely knows how to get herself prepared for the first competitions of the zone. 

A world No. 31 player had a very difficult path to the final, though, Kudermetova didn't play in the semi-final, because Naomi Osaka withdrew herself from the match. In the first round she needed two tiebreaks to beat Viktoria Kuzmova (7:6, 7:6). After that she had two three set matches against Madison Brengle (6:0, 3:6, 7:5) and Anastasia Potapova (6:2, 4:6, 6:0). In all of her matches at Melbourne Russian player was considered a favourite by the bookmakers. 

In each of her matches Kudermetova lost concentration after successful first sets, losing the second ones. She managed to get back into the game in matches against Brengle and Potapova. But it is uncertain, whether she will be able to do that in the match against an experienced Halep.
