On January 26, Iga Swiatek and Kaia Kanepi will fight each other for the last semi-final spot at Australian Open. Who will get the victory? The answer is in our prediction.

Command Analysis

Iga Swiatek

For two consecutive years Iga Swiatek was unavailable to get past the round of 16 at Australian Open. But now Polish player finally managed to beat that stage. A match against the Romanian player, Sorana Cirstea, was very difficult for Swiatek (5:7, 6:3, 6:3). In the first set Swiatek failed to convert a set-point and gave the set away. But after that Polish player managed to step up and recorded a comeback victory.
Before the round of 16 Swiatek recorded three confident victories over Dart (6:3, 6:0), Peterson (6:2, 6:2) and Kasatkina (6:2, 6:3).

Kaia Kanepi

Kaia Kanepi's appearance in the quarter-final is probably one of the main sensations of Australian Open. 36-year old player, who once was at the 15th spot in the world rankings, managed to surprise everyone with her performance.
We should note that Estonian player had a relatively easy draw. In the first round she managed to beat Kerber, who was out of form (6:4, 6:3). After that she beat Bouzkova (6:2, 7:6) and Inglis (2:6, 6:2, 6:0).
In the round of 16 Kanepi played against the World No. 2 player, Aryna Sabalenka. Belarusian playeris currently far from her best form and Kanepi managed to get advantage of that (5:7, 6:2, 7:6).

Tip and bets
No one expected to see Kaia Kanepi in the quarter-final of Australian Open. But Estonian player was too inconsistent over the course of the tournament, opponents gifted too many points to her. Swiatek is looking much better than Kanepi right now. She plays faster and she is more accurate at her serve. We are not expecting another sensation at Melbourne.
Our prediction - Swiatek to win with a handicap of (-4) games
Only in one out of four matches at Melbourne Swiatek lost a set. We don't think that inconsistent Kanepi will be able to retain the high level of performance throughout the whole match, so we don't think that she will win a set.
Our second bet is on total under 20.5 games
