Serbia vs Switzerland: prediction for the 2022 FIFA World Cup match
On Friday, Serbia and Switzerland lock horns in the final game of the group stage. Who will make it into the playoffs? Here's our prediction.

Command Analysis

Serbia

Serbiadidn't lose any of their qualifying matches - the Eagles secured six wins and drew two games, and finished on top of their group. The European side kicked off their World Cup campaign with a 0:2 defeat to Brazil, and in the second game they drew against Cameroon (3:3).
Dragan Stojkovic's charges must win to get a ticket to the playoffs, plus their position depends on the result between Brazil and Cameroon. This is quite a disappointing result from the Serbians, who were considered one of the potential dark horses before the start of the tournament. Serbia didn't win any of their previous four World Cup games and conceded at least two goals in each of them.

Switzerland

Switzerland just need to not lose to qualify. They defeated Cameroon in the first game (1:0) and lost to Brazil in the second one (0:1). The team looked solid on defense against Brazil's stellar attack, but couldn't create anything on offense.
Murat Yakin can become the first manager to lead the Swiss team into the playoffs in three straight World Cups. Switzerland haven't lost two World Cup games in a row since 1994, so we can say that the stats are on their side. Moreover, Switzerland leader Xherdan Shaqiri might join his team in the upcoming game.
Okafor is sidelined through a muscle injury.
Tip and bets
One point would be enough for the Swiss team to qualify, unless Cameroon somehow beat Brazil by a wide margin. Yakin's side looked more convincing in the first two games than Serbia, and we predict a confident victory for the Swiss team in the upcoming game.
Our prediction – Switzerland to win
Both sides are highly motivated, as only a victory guarantees them a spot in the playoffs regardless of the result in the Brazil - Cameroon game. We expect a close fight, but give a slight edge to Switzerland.
Second bet — Switzerland to win by 1 goal
