Lada vs. Vityaz: KHL match betting tip
Lada and Vityaz will play their second match on January 18 in Tolyatti. At the very beginning of the season, the Filins achieved success on the road and earned two points in Balashikha. The hosts continue to fight for a place in the playoffs, while the Vitki are in the basement of the Western Conference table and are gradually losing even theoretical chances of reaching the final part of the tournament. Pavel Zubov charges look good at the start of the new calendar year. Will they be able to beat the Bogatyrs? Read about this in our prediction for the confrontation

Command Analysis

Lada Togliatti

Current form
Lada continues to fight for a place in the top eight in the East and is currently in ninth place in the conference. Togliatti has scored 42 points in 44 games and does not intend to give up in the battle to get into the final part of the tournament. As of today, they have a game in hand and are only two points behind Sibir, which is in eighth place. In the current home series of matches, Pavel Zubov team has earned five points out of eight possible. They beat Barys (1:0), lost to Kunlun (2:3, OT), and then sensationally won against Dynamo Minsk (6:4). In the last match, the hosts were unable to achieve the desired result and lost to Torpedo in regular time (2:3).
The club from the Samara Region plays inconsistently in attack and in five out of eight matches did not score more than twice in 60 minutes. Dmitry Kugryshev remains the top scorer and only after the last game did he enter the top 100 most productive hockey players in the league. The Lada forward scored 23 goals (8+15) and so far looks better than the other forwards.
Aleksandr Trushkov returned to the goal after a short rest. The goalkeeper blocked 47 shots in the match against Dynamo Minsk and was one of the best in the home team, but failed in the game against Torpedo. Now Lada also has Konstantin Volkov, who recently transferred from Kunlun. As for Trushkov, he blocked 91.61% of shots this season and made two shutouts in 17 starts.
Disqualifications and injuries
Pavel Koltygin and Nikita Popugaev will not be able to help their team in the game against Vityaz.
Interesting trends for betting
- Lada takes 26 shots on goal per game
The hosts don't shoot much, trying to concede as few goals as possible, so their attacking performance is quite modest.
- Togliatti earns 7.34 penalty minutes on average per match
The Owls are often sent off, but they neutralize 81.8% of their opponents’ attempts to convert the extra man.

Vityaz

Current form
Vityaz is not ready to accept the role of the Western Conference outsider, but now Pavel Desyatkov charges occupy only the tenth line in the table, having earned 39 points in 44 games. The Moscow Region team won only three games in December and seriously worsened their chances of getting into the playoffs. Bogatyri lost six games in a row and only recently broke the losing streak. After defeats in St. Petersburg (2:5) and Yaroslavl (0:3), the club from Balashikha could not cope with the onslaught of Severstal (1:2) at home, and a couple of days later proved stronger than Sochi (2:1, OT). The teams exchanged goals in the first period and the outcome of the confrontation was decided only in overtime.
The visitors are not that bad in attack and scored at least two goals per game in six out of eight matches. Dmitry Buchelnikov again left the top ten scorers of the league, having earned 36 points (13+23). Ivan Chekhovich (11+23), who failed to open up in Lokomotiv, but became one of the leaders of Vityaz, has two points less. Derek Barach, who made 30 effective actions (17+13), lost some momentum.
Dmitry Shikin returned to the Vityaz goal after a long break. The veteran looked weak in the match against Severstal, but helped his team defeat Sochi (2:1, OT). At the moment, he has played 16 games and reflected 90.59% of shots. So far, the Russian has not made a single shutout, but he can compete for the status of the first goalie with Maxim Dorozhko.
Disqualifications and injuries
Alexander Darin, Sergey Kalinin and Grigory Vaschenko will not play in Tolyatti.
Interesting trends for betting
- According to statistics, Vityaz throws 25 times per game on average
The visitors do not put much pressure on the opposing goalkeepers.
- Vityaz wins 47.5% of faceoffs
The Bogatyrs perform poorly at the point and often lose duels.
Trends
Bet 1st period: total over 1.5 goals
In three out of five matches between the teams, there were at least two goals in the first period.
2.15Bet 3rd period: Lada will score
In four out of six matches, Lada scored in the third period
1.60Tip and bets
Lada has a huge motivation for each game and is still just one win away from the playoff zone. Filiny have slowed down a bit after a fairly confident start in January, but they have managed not to lose in a row. On their home court, the Togliatti team demonstrates decent results and often beats teams from the lower part of the table. Vityaz only recently interrupted their losing streak, achieving success in the game against Sochi in the Moscow region. This season, the team from the Samara region has already beaten the Bogatyrs. We think that they will succeed this time too. We suggest betting on the first team to win, taking into account extra time and shootouts.
Betting Tip - Lada wins the match for 1.78
Bet on individual total
Lada hasn't scored much during the season and is particularly bad at converting its chances in Tolyatti. However, the club from the Samara region is in good shape now and has scored ten times in the last three games alone. Vityaz is poor in defense at this stage of the season and has conceded fewer than three times per game in four out of seven games. We believe that the Owls will be able to break through the visitors' defense.
We bet on Lada individual total of over 2.5 goals with odds of 2.07
Total Bet
The matches between the teams after Lada return to the KHL have not been productive. Now everything should be different, because the hosts are making good use of their chances. And Vityaz, in fact, has nothing to lose, so the team led by Pavel Desyatkov can calmly go on the attack and look for happiness in the front. We believe in at least five accurate shots from the opponents.
We take the total over 4.5 goals for 1.85
