Command Analysis

Edmonton Oilers

Current form
Edmonton has been feeling pretty good lately and has been performing significantly better than at the start of the season. Overall, the team is currently in fifth place in the Western Conference, so overall, it should be happy with everything. True, if before Christmas it showed great results and often pleased fans with long winning streaks, then after returning from the break, the Oilers have not yet been able to find the game that brought them results.
If before the break the Oilers managed to deal with San Jose (3:2 OT) and Ottawa (3:1) on their home ice, then after it they could not cope with Los Angeles (3:4 OT) on the road, and literally gave two points to Anaheim - 3:4. So, in the last confrontation they had an extremely comfortable advantage of two goals, but, strangely enough, they were unable to bring the matter to a victorious end and allowed the opponent to succeed at the very end of the third period.
Of course, defense is clearly not Edmonton strong point, and it causes them a lot of trouble. But in most cases, Chris Knobloch squad manages to compensate for this with excellent offensive play. By the way, despite the unsuccessful previous match, Leon Draisaitl scored another double and secured his place on the first line of the team top scorers, currently having 55 points in the goal + pass system.
Disqualifications and injuries
Evander Kane will not be able to take part in the match due to injury
Interesting trends for betting

The Oilers are one of the best clubs in the league in this indicator.
- Edmonton has a 48-29 goal-to-goal ratio in the second period.
The Oilers have a great second period and often take it over

Utah Hockey Club

Current form
Utah is still outside the playoff zone and currently occupies the tenth place in the Western Conference standings. The team had a great opportunity to secure a place in the top eight, but once again faced a long losing streak. Overall, December was quite successful for them, as they managed to win six of seven games, but suffered defeat in the final four meetings.
Even before Christmas, Andre Tourigny team had failed to cope with Anaheim (4:5 SO), Dallas (2:3) and Colorado (1:4) at home, and lost to Sittel 2:5 on the road. In many cases, they demonstrated poor defensive play and allowed their opponents to score at least three or four times. As a rule, matches this season have been in their favor only when they have missed no more than two goals.
It is also worth mentioning that Utah performs better on the road than at home, and has already won 11 of its 20 games. The team is most powerful in the opening twenty minutes, where it has a 32:22 ratio of goals scored and goals conceded, but the second period often goes in favor of its opponent. The club also makes good use of its numerical advantage and currently has a 22.6% conversion rate.

Trends

In four of the five games involving Utah, the first period was productive.
1.77Bet 2nd period: home team win
In two out of three matches, the visitors lost in the second period
2.10Tip and bets
In our opinion, Edmonton currently looks stronger than its opponent in many aspects. The Oilers have played well on their home ice lately and have dealt with many opponents. Utah is currently far from its optimal condition and continues to lose match after match. Last time, the Oilers were also able to prove their superiority over Andre Tourigny team, although they did so outside of regulation time. At home, Knobloch team will have the opportunity to deal with Utah within 60 minutes.
Prediction - Edmonton win for 1.72
Bet on individual total
Utah has been poor in scoring lately, and has typically not scored more than two goals. In the last three games, it has not scored more than two. Edmonton also doesn't give up many goals against similar opponents. Plus, the Oilers have allowed fewer than three goals in their last three home games.
We bet on Utah individual total under 2.5 goals for 1.85
Total Bet
Utah previous games were not particularly productive, as it showed mediocre performance, but in response it rarely conceded more than three times. On the road, Tourigny team tries to play more closed hockey than at home, and Edmonton is unlikely to force the issue after a disastrous match against Anaheim. Based on this, we expect to see a minimum number of goals in the match.
We take the total under six goals for 1.90
